Dymally faced harassment in the form of unsubstantiated claims of corruption and supposedly impending indictments of crimes several times throughout his career. While no charges were ever brought against him, he suspected one such incident may have cost him the reelection to Lt. Governor. His opponent Mike Curb accused him of criminal behavior in San Bernardino and Santa Clara Counties. The accusations caused a scandal, but no charges were brought.
